Hi Christopher! — I agree with your more than I don’t. It’s not that I see money as bad and believe spiritual teachers shouldn’t be paid for their work. But I question the idea. I guess it boils down to what is the teacher’s primary motivation — passing on knowledge or getting reach — and whether she/he has indeed something valuable to offer.
As a second thought though, maybe passing on knowledge and getting rich can go hand in hand as both valid motivations? I don’t have a strong opinion on that.
