I think there are groups and individuals that are trying to do that. For example, I have a friend who created a community that follows teachings of the Christ — but doesn’t identify with the official Catholic (or any other) Church. I can see that what they are trying to do is genuine and that their search is driven by curiosity, rather than fear.

However, in a country like Poland, there are many people who see this and immediately assume that such a community must be a cult. So it comes back to the same question of having the courage to break out from the established narrative to try and find a more authentic path.
