Of course — all I want to say is that it happened to me numerous times that my definition of “value” was very different from the reader’s one. So I published pieces that were “meh” in my opinion — but people loved them and got inspired. And the other way round: I sometimes wrote something that I thought was my best work and got feedback that it was boring.
So when you say in your article that we should only publish our best work behind the paywall, I need to point out that it is ultimately the readers who decide what is our best work. :) And they can only decide that after we have already published.
