Wow, I imagine that it took a lot of courage to write this and that it is also a very important piece for you. Kudos for sharing it! I have experienced what you describe here only to a much smaller extend with my Catholic upbringing, but I can still relate to a lot of the things you said – especially the deep fear of disappointing my parents and what it says about me.
